What will the future of flooring be? Today people lean towards hard wood flooring, then ask all the family members to take their shoes off in the home, but with new simulated wood products that use lasers to cut the grain and replicate the wood, there is a chance that wood may someday be out and simulated wood will be in. Will this mean that it will be so close a match that people cannot tell? Some of the latest innovators of simulated wood believe so and the cost will be such that everyone will have simulated wood flooring.
Today more and more facades are made of simulated wood and with new laser cutting techniques you can barely tell, because the gain is still there, you can see it and feel it, it looks so real. Simulated wood flooring or even boat hulls will be the same way, but instead of being made of foam, or plastic, they will be cut from carbon nano-tube coatings, that will be 1,000 times stronger than steel due to the thickness and they will be somewhat flexible in case of an Earthquake, in fact, the foundation will not even need to be concrete, the floor will be its own foundation.
The Online Think Tank last week discussed this at length with several other Futurists and indeed, agreed that the future of carbon nano-tube simulated wood flooring was not only probable, but strong too. As the price of carbon nano-tube construction comes down, it will make sense to skip the foundation and go with a one-step solution like this, which will save thousands of dollars in the costs of building a single room, not to mention a whole house, garage and deck. All without cutting down a single tree; Think on this.
