The interlocking is relatively easy. Lift the piece, slide it into the next piece, then let it down. Locked together. Be sure to leave 1/4″ all around the perimeter of the room for expansion. Use the piece you cut off to finish a row to start the next row. Offset your joints at least a foot from one row to the next. Hope this helps.
Its really easy to lay just ensure you measure correctly any pieces you need to cut and make sure you use the blocks/spacers between the hammer & the laminate when youre interlocking them and only hit it gently to lock them otherwise it will get damaged.
well im a girl & i just finished 2 bedrooms. all i didn’t do was cut the boards.. so yes its easy. i do recommend having a friend/helper because it gets pain full getting up & down & its allot quicker having 2.
The interlocking part is pretty easy. i just watched a heap of videos on it on youtube and once you get going its easy!! just remember to tap them in properly, (every board). you don’t want gaps they look bad, but are easy to avoid..
good luck!
Edit- & i dont know if your boards came with instructions cos mine didnt but you could always ring the shop that sold you the boards if you have any questions while your doing it. im sure they would be happy to help, i rang mine a couple times.. (:
Most of these flooring material already comes with instructions on how to, but have a look at this guide I found.
It depends on your patience and the amount of time you have allotted to do the project. If you are comfortable using either a hand saw or an electric saw, you can probably tackle this project yourself. i do agree with the previous poster that having a helper will come in hand.
One thing I can stress is do not rush it. If you have a dinner party on Sunday, don’t start Saturday. Leave yourself plenty of time for trial and error for your first installation.
Check out this link for both quick and full installation guides for laminate floors. I swear by the full guide. It covers everything you can think of from A to Z.
